Buckinghamshire Council is inviting residents and organisations for their views on whether this new Draft Local Plan is sound and ready for examination by the Planning Inspectorate.
What is the Local Plan for Buckinghamshire?
The Local Plan sets out a vision for Buckinghamshire’s growth to 2045, including where new homes, jobs, infrastructure and community facilities could be located. It identifies how plans for around 91,000 new homes required by national government and 270 hectares of new employment land can be accommodated, while protecting the county’s environment and character.
An up-to-date Local Plan helps ensure growth is planned and sustainable. Without one, there is greater risk of unplanned ‘speculative’ development which the Council is less able to prevent, and less ability to consider these holistically and secure appropriate infrastructure.

The Draft Local Plan has been developed over years of extensive evidence gathering, and consultation with residents, businesses, infrastructure providers and other stakeholders.
