Our vision for Buckinghamshire

The Local Plan sets out a long-term vision for how Buckinghamshire could look and feel by 2045. This vision is about maintaining the county’s distinctive character while ensuring that it continues to grow in a sustainable and inclusive way.

In the future, Buckinghamshire will continue to be a largely rural county with thriving towns and villages. New development will create well-designed places where people can live, work and travel more sustainably. The economy will be strong and innovative, with opportunities for local people to access good jobs.

At the same time, the Plan aims to protect important landscapes, support biodiversity, helping to create healthier and more resilient communities.
